Unit 202

You can enjoy your coffee on the private lanai while watching turtles (honu) and whales, during the winter season. Sunsets are amazing every single day. Every night at sunset, Kulakane tradition is to blow the conch shells at sunset. You will find a conch shell in your condo and we ask you to join other guests at the seawall to enjoy our tradition. Fridays at sunset we have a pupu (appetizer) party poolside. It's a great opportunity to share your favorite recipes and get to know other guests, owners and staff members!

  We have stayed at a second or third floor condo at Kulakane many times. We love the lanais - they are very spacious, private and right on the ocean. We have taken many photos of migrating Humpback whales, breaching and slapping their tails, while we sipped coffee on the lanai. We have many photos of the sunsets and the turtles. Such a special experience. Unit 202 was lovely. Loved the king bed with tables on BOTH sides. YAY. It could use a side chair, perhaps a recliner, in the living area. The Kulakane is close to two markets (The Times and Napili Market), many many restaurants, several golf courses, shopping, and hiking trails. Always a lovely vacation.

  This is our second time staying at the kulakane and won’t be our last. Everything about this place is special. It’s the most beautiful place to wake up to and makes coming back to reality EXTREMELY difficult. Debbie is lovely and makes you feel a little extra special with that white board message upon arrival. Put a huge smile on my face. If you’re concerned about not having air conditioning.... Maybe visiting Maui isn’t for you. The breeze in the morning is beautiful and you can’t help but waking up and going to sleep with a smile on your face and the sound of the ocean.   This was our second time staying at the Kulakane! First time in this rental. Condo was so adorable and comfortable! Property was recently renovated and looks fantastic! The view is incredible as you are right on the water and will want to spend as much time as possible on the lanai! Location is also very close to Lahaina. Property managers live on site and are so friendly and accommodating. This condo has everything you need to enjoy your perfect stay in Maui!

  Kulakane is the most amazing Maui destination. And we truly love everything about it. Each condo is unique and clearly a loved and cherished owner’s home. There is no better location for watching turtles, whales breaching and dolphins spinning. Everything is close by for walks and hikes. Easy access to grocery stores and farmers markets make it easy to use the kitchen for healthy meals. My husband snorkels every day in the protected waters right outside the units. The property is meticulously maintained and beautifully landscaped. We feel welcomed, cared for, and treated like family by the managers, Debbie and Tony. It is truly the best place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Maui.

  The Kulakane is a wonderful place to vacation. The views are amazing and the units are well maintained, stocked and clean. The complex manager was helpful and friendly and lent us binoculars to view the migrating whales.   KULAKANE feels like a second home. All the condos are individually furnished by the owners, making them special and fun. We do not eat out, but stock up at Costco and local grocery stores and farmer's markets. Meal prep is enjoyable...staring out at the beautiful view. Sitting on the lanai it feels like you are on a cruise ship....because you are so close to the water. No need for whale watching trips, just watch them breaching and playing right outside your door. Also, tons of turtles, dolphins, and this time several Monk Seals. We get up early and run, walk or hike near by (Kaanapali, Coast trail in Napili/Kapalua area, old overgrown golf course hiking trails). Then my husband snorkels in the reef protected area right out in front of the complex. We love, love, love this place and the people who manage it, Debbie and Tony are the very best!!!!! Debbie recommended 202 this trip and we were not disappointed. Comfortable bed, beautiful remodeled bathroom, nice furnishings, fan on the lanai and a great location in the complex. Don't be put off by the retro appliances they all worked great.

  Reservations Simple, hosts welcoming, whales amazing, condo nice and clean, construction and upstairs neighbors annoying. I know we were forewarned and received a discount because of, but according to what we were told expected construction to be further along. Fridge started acting up with noise like an airplane taking off within hours of our arrival, so Debbie allowed us to stay in next door condo for the night and repairman came by next day so that was solved. Upstairs neighbors extremely noisy, besides CONSTANT marching back and forth, would literally yell up stairwells at 6 am. Construction started earlier in the morning than was on association letter as well. We tried to make the best of it and leave during the day, but relaxing by the pool was only done on their days’ off (weekend). We will be back ( have been here a few times before and we do love it here . Hopefully all construction will be completed and it will all be beautiful again. ��

  We started coming to the KulaKane in 2006. It is water front and you can spot whales any time of day. Each condo is privately owned, decorated and furnished by the owner. We stayed in 202 this year and felt it could use a few extras dishes in the cupboard. The king size bed was comfortable. The bathroom though a little small has been nicely updated. TV and internet service was very good. It is our go to place on Maui!

  The information received before we arrived was that there was some construction but they were not sure how much.(they gave us a 30% reduction but it was still almost $200 per night) . When we arrived there were other guests that were very unhappy, the area between the condo and the ocean was under constructions and the pool could not be used. We were not allowed to use the pool ares for anything during the week, it was only available Sat and Sunday. In addition to the main construction the Owner above our condo decided it was a good time to start the construction on their Condo, we were woke up at 6:45 AM with workers moving things and banging around. We were not happy campers then are still not. The room was dated and we found a cockroach on the wall in the kitchen(other guest said they had roaches also, where there is one there are more) The staff were nice but they did not give us accurate information about the extent of the construction and availability. The view was great, as long as you were sitting down in the living room, if you stood up or sat on the Lanai the hole in front of the room was not pleasant. The bed was comfortable but my wife said the pull out couch was very dirty and was glad we did not have to sleep on it. All in all I would never stay there again. I think they were not forthcoming on how much construction was in progress.

  A much needed vacation at an awesome location. This is my second time staying at the Kulakane, and I look forward to coming back again soon! The bed was incredibly comfy (this coming from a 24 week pregnant lady), and all appliances worked as expected. The snorkeling out behind the condo is great, and we even got the pleasure of seeing an octopus.

  Overall had a great experience; Debbie is wonderful and extremely helpful, and you can't beat the convenience--and views--of the location. We were happy with the unit we stayed in and would stay in it again; the only suggestions we have are the addition of a TV in the bedroom, and pillows (and a mattress) that are more comfortable (and thicker cushions on the outdoor furniture :) ).
