Unit 311

Located on the 3rd floor of a small (only 42 units) quiet complex, you will have unlimited views of the beautiful sunsets, turtles feeding and playing in the reefs, right in front of the complex, and whales at play, during their season, on your private lanai. We have direct ocean access for snorkeling and swimming along with a dipping pool and many lounge chairs. Our beach is just 50 feet away.
We are centrally located in West Maui just minutes away from the major resort areas of Ka’anapali and Kapalua. Within walking distance you will find “Bad Ass Coffee”, grocery stores, a Farmer’s market, snorkel and surf rental shops and local parks. Golf, water sports, more shopping, dining and more great beaches are all just a short drive away (Lahaina, Kapalua, Kahana and Napili are all within 4 miles).
Our condo was completely remodeled in 2018. There are two enclosed bedrooms with two full baths. The Master upstairs has a queen bed with bath en suite. The lower bedroom has two twin beds. Both have large closets. Our sofa is a queen size convertible.

The fully furnished kitchen will provide you with all that you need to create a gourmet meal or a quick bite to eat including a refrigerator with ice-maker, cook top stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, blender, rice cooker and every utensil you can think of. We also have boogie boards, sand chairs, coolers, shade umbrella and even a set of golf clubs for your use. There are two HD TV’s with cable along with DVD and CD players and an Ipod docking station. There is also free Wi-Fi available to our guests along with free local phone service.

Ceiling fans are located in each bedroom, living room and kitchen to help the tradewinds keep you cool.
There are two gas BBQ’s available for your use. Our site manager grows fresh herbs for your use in the same area. Free off street parking is provided as well as all the linens and towels, including beach towels. There is also a beautiful laundry room located near the office (which has a great free lending library in case you forgot your book).

For each sunset, the sun is wished a speedy return with a traditional blowing of conch shells on our seawall. Our units have two for your use. Every Friday, there is a no host “pupu” party by the pool where guests can mingle and share favorite adventures and swap recommendations for dining, beaches and the other great Maui activities.

  Our Ohana enjoyed another magical Christmas on Maui, and for the 3rd Christmas in a row, we stayed in room 311. Your condo has become a home away from home for us over the years and we are so grateful for the beautiful space to make memories and enjoy time with our 3 teenage daughters. We have already booked stays for the next two years...and hope for many more visits as well.
  
  The condo was clean and stocked well. The cleaning teams are just amazing and so kind! We even found items that we have left in the closets, so that was fun!
  
  If we could offer any suggestions, we would love to see the couch upgraded. We don't spend a ton of time in the condo, but at night it would be nice (especially around the holidays) to be able to all (fam of 5 adults) have a place to sit and relax. An L shaped couch with a pullout would be amazing and then you could just get rid of the chair by the door. The couch in general is getting a little worn and "grimy" looking and feeling.
  
  The carpet and rugs also are getting very worn and could probably use to be replaced at some point.
  
  Beds are comfy and we always sleep so well in Maui. Thank you for your kind hospitality and for sharing this beautiful space with our family. We will treasure our time here forever. Can you beat that view?! It's such amazing.

  Gorgeous views, great location. Amazing snorkeling right on this beach. Sunset was gorgeous......only negative was no air conditioning, it was a little warm and the windows in the living room were broken so not as much air flow I guess. With Air conditioning or maybe more of a breeze it would have been more comfortable.

  We stayed at the end of June/early July, and the trade winds and fans kept us very comfortable inside. Unit 311 is so nicely finished - the baths and kitchen were beautiful, beds were comfy, the kitchen was very well stocked, and there was plenty of beach gear, coolers, chairs, etc. in the closets. Third floor units are lofted which make them feel even more spacious. The full ocean view and sound of the waves... paradise! The location is convenient for exploring the island with a rental car. I wish we’d had more time to stay put and snorkel right out front – we saw lots of sea life from the lanai. Overall it exceeded our expectations and we couldn't have been happier. I highly recommend it!

  We made our 5th trip to Maui and the Kulakane. Unit 311 was a beautiful condo with all of the amenities you could ask for. The view each morning with our coffee was amazing. You are close to all kinds of activities, golf, shopping, restaurants
  , sightseeing. Some of the best snorkeling is right behind the condo. Deb and Tony at the Kulakane are great people and make sure your stay is everything you expect. We will definitely be back for our 6th time and chose 311 for our stay.
  The only downside was some maintenance being down on the sea wall but it caused us no inconvenience during our stay.

  + Excellent ocean views, and we saw a ton of whales!!! Pun intended? Not "ton" because they weigh so much, but ton because we saw a lot!
  + Great location for watching sunsets as well.
  - Not much of a beach to access.
  + However in low tide, there is a sandy area you can access, and snorkeling from here is easy
  + There is a park within a 5 minute walk with a beach
  + That park is across from a couple shops: Farmer's Market, Bad *** coffee (that's their real name and they back it up w/ their coffee)
  - No A/C; hot, humid days and nights especially would be a challenge for someone like me
  + But with the screens open, this unit has great airflow on the main floor and the upper loft. Also every room features at least one ceiling fan
  - No laundry in the room
  + Laundry facility is on site and takes credit/debit card as well as quarters
  + Short drive to a larger grocery store
  + Nice floor plan, great kitchen area, most of your common spices are available; cups, pans, plates, etc are in great shape, it's well cared for.
  + Propane grills are available.
  + Super easy check-in & check-out
  + Lots of board and card games in the unit
  
  Really the two main reasons I don't give it 5* across the board are just because no A/C and no real beach. But there is a nice private pool area, and you can access the ocean right there. I would stay here again in similar weather.

  We truly enjoyed our stay in Unit 311. We found the property to be exactly as described. It was very enjoyable sitting out on the lanai watching the ocean, turtles, and whales. We are not accustomed to heat and humidity and were concerned about no air conditioning. It was not a problem!! The breezes off the ocean with the help of overhead fans kept the unit very comfortable. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms are very small, but are clean and modern. The kitchen had all the items we needed to eat in comfortably. The turtles are amazing to watch from our lanai and the access to the water for swimming is very easy. Our only complaint is that the conch in this unit does not make any noise - the hole has not been cut properly - so we weren't able to blow our conch with everyone else at sunset. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

  I normally stay in timeshare so I’m used to the condo feel whenever I travel. I was worried when the place I wanted to stay was booked and I had four people. I don’t like to split the group up. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place. Not only was the welcoming amazing but I was blown away when I opened the door to the unit! It was perfect and spacious. (Two bedrooms, one upstairs) Someone wrote a review about no air conditioning that I saw the last minute and almost cancelled but I’m glad I didn’t! You don’t need air conditioning. They have ceiling fans that work great and extra floor fans. More than enough to keep cool.

  A relative suggested the Kulakane condos for a family vacation we began planning months ago.   Kulakane condos are our favorite place to stay in Maui Great location, like the two bedroom layout, enjoy having a lanai facing the water, and the ocean behind is frequented by sea turtles. Grounds and pool area are in great shape, and property manager Debbie is very helpful. Unit 311 has nice kitchen and overall condo was very functional, as with the other we have enjoyed here. A few minor physical issues could use repair, nothing significant. Only disappointment was expecting to use washer/dryer in unit and the washer no longer works and dryer was not functioning well.

  마우이에대한 기대와 쿨라카네 숙소에 대한 기대는 상상 이상이였습니다.하와이 전통풍 스러운 곳에서 너무잘 묵고왔습니다.특히 가족단위 여행객들에게 추천드립니다. 다시한번 꼭 가보고싶은데 그런날이 꼭 다시 오기를 기다려봅니다. 숙소앞 비치에서 수영도 할수있고 5분만 걸어가면 공원이 딸린 비치도 있습니다. 경치가 진짜 끝내줍니다.

  We loved our stay at the Kulakane. The condo had everything we could possible need and more. It was so nice to be able to just sit on the Seawall and watch all the Turtles swim below. Debbie and Tony along with all the owners were beyond welcoming and so nice to our family!

  As soon as we arrived, we were in love with the place!
  The 2-story condo was spacious, the view was breathtaking, the easy access to the swimming pool and a beach was awesome, the box of chocolate-covered macadamia nut and the tote were lovely and Debbie was so sweet.... I could go on.
  
  The only things we were bummed about were 1) the washing machine was broken, 2) that there was no coffee in the cabinet and 3) there were no elevators which were more like minor annoyances than deal-breakers.
  
  On our last day in the morning, we saw some whales from the balcony. Out of three hotels we stayed during our trip to Hawaii, the Kulakane was our favorite. We will return again.

  This is our fifth stay at this condo. The unit was clean and well stocked With cooking equipment, linens and towels. The views are stunning. Most evenings you can watch turtles feeding right outside the condo. Management is attentive and friendly. Great for family vacations or couples.
