Unit 212

With sweeping ocean views and a bright, comfortable living area, this condo is an ideal destination for a relaxing getaway. Unit 212 is located on the second floor of the Kulakane, allowing for beautiful views toward both Lanai and Moloka'i islands. Year round, the spacious lanai (deck) provides a picturesque area for a quiet morning breakfast or by evening, a breath-taking sunset.

This recently updated unit reflects our appreciation for numerous local Hawaiian artists and boasts beautiful island-inspired decorations. The condo sleeps four, with one King size bed, a Queen size sofa sleeper, one bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen providing a great option to cook in the unit.

This ocean front condo also allows for easy access to the beach, Kulakane pool, deck and patio area, on-site barbeques and more.

We came to the Kulakane in 1972 and fell in love with it, buying 212 some years later. The condo has been our favorite home away from home and is the perfect vacation destination, whether you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway or an adventurous and active holiday.

  Very cute 1 bedroom condo. You can feel the ocean breeze and hear the waves. We spent a lot of time just sitting on the porch (2nd story) relaxing, watching for whales (one gave us a great show), and marveling at the rainbows.

  From the lanai, we were able to watch numerous whales and turtles. The sunsets were fantastic with views of Molokai and Lanai. The lanai felt private and did not get to much heavy afternoon sun. The condo was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We would love to come again.

  In my past experiences, vacation rentals are a hit or miss. The pictures look good and the reviews seem okay but in most cases,it doesn't meet expectations. We were very surprised with our stay. The location was ideal situated in Lahaina, close to the beaches and local stores and restaurants. The unit was clean, well maintained and the view from our balcony was incredible. Staff was professional and polite. The only things I would recommend is to bring shampoo because they only give you a one time set and pick the second floor. There is no elevation so the third floor steps are steep. For the price, I would recommend it to anyone.

  Unit 212 is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware/dishes; even has a small dishwasher. King size bed was comfortable. TV's in both living and bedroom. Sand toys, beach chairs and umbrella were available to use. We spent most of our time out on the lanai watching boats sail past and the spectacular sunsets in the evenings. Don't forget to go to the pupu party on Friday evenings!

  We had a great stay in our unit. Beautiful views. A few things seemed a bit run down in the unit, but overall it was pleasant. Ice from ice maker made water have floaties when ice melted in water glasses. Internet didn't seem to work. Had to reset the wifi router every day, and most times we couldn't reset it because the people in adjoining room weren't home. Would be nice to have a router that worked in our own unit.

  1. Toaster dead.
  2. No secure Wifi.
  3. TV subscription of 40 year old TV reruns. Primitive TV channel operation. Big screen, but blury pic.
  4. Bedroom TV not working. Impossible sign-on. We didn't come to Maui to debug someone else's software.
  5. Both frig and microwave in need of replacing, as well as dishwasher.
  6. No apparent standard of quality between units. Would not recommend unit #217 to anyone. Would not recommend any unit w/o secure WiFi. How does one know which unit to select? No way to tell in advance.
  7. Worn out towels supplied with tears in them.
  8. Without the location and fantastic view the Kulakane would not be able to compete with Motel 6, particularly at the $270 ( total ) price per day we paid. At some point all the 'old' returning guests will die off. Who will you rent to then? Times have changed..............
