Unit 109

Just wanted to tell you a little about our little piece of paradise. We started visiting the Kulakane about thirty years ago, with my parents and two sons. We would come each summer until my parents eventually purchased 108 and 109 almost twenty years ago. My husband, Marshall and I have been loving our little homes ever since. We try to spend 3 - 5 months here each year. The best part is the "ohana", or family, you feel a part of at the Kulakane. Friends have been returning each year to make very special memories.

Tony & Debbie are the best people...been coming for over 40 years & they are the best managers ever ❤️ Not sure why you need property management when you have these my opinion a waste of owners money!

  I have been staying here for about 12 years. Everything was great as usual. Debbie and Tony do a fantastic job.
  I am disappointed that the smoking area was removed. I do not smoke, but my girlfriend does. It was nice to have a safe and comfortable area. Now its 2 chairs in a dark corner. It is not safe. Plus, the chairs at the BBQ area have been removed. And no bench outside the office to sit at. These are all things that set the Kulakane apart from the rest. Now it feels like just another condo complex that really does not take into consideration their guests. Very disappointing. I guess it's a new management company. I recommend getting rid of the new management company and going back to what it was. A unique and friendly condo complex.

  Property was easy to find and near many shops, restaurants, etc. This unit 109 could use some updates in furniture and decor. It's a little tired and could use less furniture and fans. There was lots of helpful supplies located in closet such as beach chairs, towels, blankets, coolers, etc. We would definitely stay at the Kulakane again.   We have returned to this place a few times. We absolutely love unit 109 and 108. They are owned by the same family. It has everything you need with the pool and ocean just steps away. We feel like we’re at home and Deb and Tony along with other owners of different units are amazing to share special times with. Highly recommend the Kulakane. One downfall to this unit is it is right next to the walkway that has bright lights. We knew about it ahead of time and it didn’t bother us but others might see it as a little bright. Overall, you can’t go wrong with unit 109.

  The condo is located close to resort. Has its own beach area, you could see green turtles playing with the wave. The sunset view is marvelous. Check-in and check-out is easy. Convenient to stores, restaurants. There is no AC, but if you leave the door open at night, it is OK. It is clean with thoughtful touches.

  Kulekane is a friendly condo right on the ocean. Unit 109 is nicely remodelled with dedicated wifi, large flat screen and full cable. New flooring, kitchen bedroom with comfy king bed. Highly recommend 109.

  We've been coming to Kulakane for 4 years and absolutely love it there. Debbie and Tony are always wonderful to us. The only downside this trip was our condo's close proximity to the pool. Some other guests were rather rowdy from drinking at the pool so it was too noisy most of the time for us. We had to keep our patio doors closed to avert the noise. We know they were just having fun, but were doing cannon balls into the water, etc while others were trying to just relax there. Next year we'll be sure to book a condo further from the pool. Aside from that, it was great as always. Aloha!

  The Kulakane came on to our radar about 10 years ago. It's our go-to-place every time we're on Maui (about 4/5 times now). We enjoy the location and the charm of its smaller size and local vibe. This, as opposed to the high-end resort scene at Ka'anapali (not that there's anything wrong with that). My husband and I are both swimmers and the swimming is perfect right out front. Plus, sitting on the sea wall watching the ocean and turtles feed on the small reef is just the best. Since the units are individually owned, each reflects the owner's tastes. Scrutiny of the photos is recommended, particularly the kitchen and baths; I like those spaces to be updated. Debbie, the office manager, and the gentleman that is on site (sorry I forgot your name) are super pleasant and helpful. All it all, it's a great place to relax into the Aloha spirit. We'll be back again in September for the Maui Channel Swim!

  Great trip, a little less rain and wind would have been nice! Loved the turtles out front and snorkelling with them, it was great being on the ground floor this year so we could just walk out to the water. Debbie and Tony were friendly and helpful. Conch blowing at sunset was entertaining! A deck of cards or two would be a good addition to the unit.
