Kulakane Resort is a West Maui vacation rental property, located just a few miles north of historic Lahaina Town. Each oceanfront condo at the Kulakane Resort is unique because it was furnished and decorated by its individual owner. Individually decorated, each condominium offers a complete kitchen, free cable TV and free local telephone.

Kulakane Resort offers beautiful and affordable West Maui vacation rentals. All of the condos at the Kulakane Resort are located beachfront and offer a direct ocean view. We combine all the comforts of home and make Kulakane Resort your Home away from Home in paradise.

Kulakane Resort owners typically stay in their own units for at least a month or two each year, so they furnish their condominiums more like homes than vacation rentals.

  We had a very positive experience from the initial contact with Debbie, all the way until we needed to check out. The rooms were very comfortable--ceiling fans an necessity and much appreciated. Beautiful stove and refrigerator. There was a lot of dirt from construction--no pool. If there was a pool we definitely would have used it.

  It was a great stay there, very spacious for three adults. Hearing the sounds of the sea waves really made us relaxed in the nights. Sunsets were beautiful as well. We prepared meals by ourselves at most of time, we can find all cookware and tools as needed which is very different from other places. You can feel as your own home but on vacation! I will certainly book this place again.

  Although under construction, the view was spectacular, whales were the best in years! Loved being back at the Kulakane in spite of the repairs going on. Debbie & Tony as always make this place special with their unending care of us...can hardly wait to be back next fall! My condo is fabulous - the owners keep it updated and always make efforts to ensure it is the best. Can't really comment on general.. as the condo is fabulous but there was construction on site so general condition questions where they are combined are really unfair at this point in time.

  When you haven't been somewhere and try to pick the right spot...there is always a bit of 'worry' about details you forgot to look into....Our spot was PERFECT! The location, staff, condo were all wonderful. The pool and outside area need work, but we believe they are addressing those issues. (Pool is WAY too small for all the visitors who want to use it.). Great service, friendly fact, a great game of 'donating' takes place when one set of visitors leaves - they donate non perishables to the next! All in all, we highly recommend and will be back!

The condo was furnished and maintained nicely. The condo we rented was on the main floor with no steps, close to the pool and ocean. We are planning on a return trip.

  2nd time we have stayed here. We rent 3 condos for a family stay. Great value for this close to ocean. Beach is barely there , but all of Maui has suffered etosion.   Coming home to the Kulakane is always a wonderful experience. My unit (108) is fabulous, and up to date, well cared, for and gives me a "home away from home" for two months. I would not trade it for anything. It is amazing to look out in the morning, regardless of the weather and be so close to the ocean. I want to give a particular thank you to the property manager Anthony James - it is obviously difficulty to deal with the issues nature has created. He has done a stellar job of working to ensure that the property is the best it can be - living on site, he appears to be always there - at the pool cleaning by 6:30 to conch shell at 6:30 pm. In case of emergency repairs, he is there. As I have been coming since 1973 - he is the best property manager yet! Debbie Reynolds the rental manager is also wonderful, warm, helpful and constantly ensuring time at the Kulakane is pleasurable. Having traveled a lot over the years for work, I am always happy to return "home" annually to the Kulakane - a very special place.

  We stayed at the Kulakane #108 for 5 nights January 2018. Great location, great unit. When we stayed it was Quiet- nice folks, pool is small but that means it adds ambiance not noisy pool folks. The seawall is impressive and the waves crash all day & night sounding lovely. Ask about driving to nearby public beach access. Next time I think I'd call the Kulakane office directly to see which units are available. #108 is perfect but if not available I'd still want to stay in this small complex. Great sunsets.   I was really pleased with the rental. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. I would have been nice to have an empty cupboard in the kitchen to put my food in but every one was full of things people might need.
  
  I loved having my breakfast and dinner on the patio that overlooked the ocean. We even had turtles swimming around in front of us.
  
  The only drawback for me was the very limited access to WiFi. The on-site manager (who was stepping in for the regular one and who was quite unhelpful) said that I just had to sign in to any that were not locked but I only managed to get on an unlocked site twice in the 5 days I was there.

  Every time we come to Maui we stay at The Kulakane (6 or 7 times)! We were just there over Labor Day when we participated in the Maui Channel Swim. We especially enjoy the location. The complex is tucked into a local neighborhood that has a laid-back feeling, quiet local beaches, and great restaurants (The Gazabo is close by). If we want busy, the resorts at Ka'anapalli are just a short drive. We always stay on a ground floor unit, love having our morning coffee sitting on the sea wall looking for turtles. The units are privately owned, giving each a personal touch. We always feel like it's our home away from home. Debbie and Tony (office manager and caretakers) are the best. Very pleasant from start to finish and responsive to all our crazy questions. Can't wait till we see you again! Aloha...

  My husband and I just got back from our very relaxing Maui vacation. We highly recommend staying at the Kulakane. The apartment was very clean and was right in front of the beach. It was very relaxing having a cup of coffee every morning and looking out at the horizon. The rental is walking distance from Kanapali beach which has amazing snorkelling and is in general a nice place to be. My husband and I want to come back to the Kulakane next year.
